Headteacher's Welcome

Would you like to be part of a community where everyone is passionate about learning? Where we develop the leadership skills in all? A small, community school where everyone knows your name and your child’s needs and where we work together to secure their future? Carnforth High School – where no student is left behind.

There is an infectious warmth and friendliness at Carnforth High School. Its attractive location, near the coast, on the border of the Lake District creates a beautiful backdrop to the community within its walls. More importantly, the teaching staff and the students imbue the place with a sense of happiness, purpose, enthusiasm and fulfilment. A community school for students aged 11-16, Carnforth High School is unique; drawing students from small village primary schools and from further afield in Lancaster, Heysham and Morecambe.

Carnforth High School’s mission is to deliver an outstanding quality of education where all young people are ambitious to achieve, have high aspirations for their future and play an integral part in the community that they serve. Through enrichment activities and a wide variety of trips and visits, we encourage the students to widen their horizons and hone their leadership skills. Visit us and you will discover that Carnforth High School students are articulate and confident; they are independent, friendly and have a sense of pride in their community.  As a small school, we work hard to form partnerships in learning to offer students varied pathways to university, employment or further training and, knowing students as individuals means that guidance can be highly personalised.

This website is only an indication of what Carnforth High School can offer you and your child. Come and visit us in order to discover first hand just what makes us so different and so special. I very much look forward to meeting you.
