Aims

Within Carnforth High School the value of our AG+T cohort is constantly growing.  Engagement in learning is central to the provision made and pupils and parents are kept informed through a range of data.
The AG+T Coordinator and the Academic Mentor for Able Pupils work to ensure that all pupils within the cohort fulfil goals and achieve to the best of their ability.  A range of techniques are used to ensure that our students feel challenged by their work whilst achieving highly within key areas of the curriculum.
Firstly every student within the school who is identified as being Able, Gifted and/or Talented is given an Individual Education Plan (IEP).  This allows everyone involved to be aware of how the individual is working and their targets for improvement.  The targets that are set for students within Key Stage 3 are shared with class teachers to encourage progress.

 Curriculum
Within our provision for AG+T students have the opportunity to undertake GCSE subjects before they reach Year 11.  These courses are extra curricular and run after school.  The demand is high and courses fill very quickly.

Leading Edge

The AG+T cohort is also part of the Leading Edge Group and takes part in a range of activities hosted by Lancaster Girls' Grammar School.

The most important message that every student should remeber is that:

‘It’s Cool to Achieve’.
