Computing

Computing skills are a vital component to any student’s future success when they leave Carnforth High School. Our curriculum is designed to give all students the breadth of skills required to continue their journey in computing or other sectors of employment successfully.

There is a common misconception that if a student can use a device (smartphone, tablet) to access social media services or play games; then they must be a confident digital technology user. As a computing department, we know there are so many more skills required for students to be confident users of digital technology. We strive to ensure students can control their devices and the software included rather than be controlled by pre-set decision and options.
